Opening Times

Our opening hours are:

Monday – Friday: 9am-5.30pm
Closed weekends and bank holidays

Customers must sign in at reception before access is approved.
In circumstances resulting in the customer needing weekend access, it is advised to speak to the office in advance.

Is a deposit required?
A £50.00 security deposit is needed on the sign up of our metal units. No deposit is taken on our wooden crate storage units.

Are there any specific prohibited items?
Prohibited items include any food or perishable goods, combustibles, flammables, explosive or oxidising materials, liquids or gases, chemicals, pollutants, toxic or hazardous materials, car batteries. Any items that emit fumes, smell or odour, any illegal substances, counterfeit goods, tobacco, unlicensed medication and unsafe goods. Any item of significant value; jewellery, gold bullion, deeds, bonds, fine arts and fine wines. Tyres, asbestos and waste materials.

Do I need a padlock?
All customers require a lock on their unit for security purposes. You are able to either provide your own or you can purchase one from our onsite shop.

Registration and Sign up
Upon registration, we have 4 forms for the customer to look through and sign. These are the terms and conditions, disclaimers for prohibited items and insurance and an inventory for items you wish to store.
We would also need two forms of identification and we take copies of these as well as your signed forms to keep on site.

Do I need to provide identification?
Two forms of identification are required upon registration. Documents acceptable are; driving license, utility bill or passport.

Insurance
Here at Hope Valley Self Storage, we do not provide insurance for the contents of your unit. This is taken out by the individual themselves, however we can advise of reputable companies.

Am I signed into a contract?
No, there is no contract for your tenancy at Hope Valley Self Storage.

How secure is the storage facility?
The storage facility is monitored by CCTV 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The units are secure within an alarmed warehouse, which is linked to Derbyshire police.

Is there anything I need to do when I move out?
When wanting to vacate your storage unit, we ask for a minimum of a weeks’ notice.

Is there parking?
Yes, we have a large area for parking outside of the storage facility. Customers are also able drive into the warehouse and unload close to their units.

Minimum length of stay
When signing up for a storage unit for a short lease, we ask for a minimum payment of one week.

Methods of Payment
Payments accepted are: card, cash, cheque or bank transfer.

Packaging Materials
We retain a number of various packaging materials in our onsite shop including cardboard boxes, tissue paper, different varieties of tapes, bubble wrap and stretch wrap.
